On our daughter’s first trip to Disney World, breakfast with Minnie was at the top of her bucketlist so we obviously had to make reservations for Minnie’s Beach Bash Breakfast. This Cape May Cafe breakfast was the perfect place to bring her to make her wishes come true!
From the character interactions to the delicious buffet spread, we’re covering everything you can expect in this Cape May Cafe breakfast review.

Reservations
Considering how popular Minnie’s Beach Bash Breakfast is, it’s best to make a reservation well in advance. Reservations open up at 6:00am 60 days in advance and can be booked online on the Disney website.
Weekend reservations seem to be especially popular so we made our Sunday breakfast reservation 6.5 weeks in advance. A credit card is required at the time of booking to confirm the reservation, but it is not charged until after your breakfast.
If you need to cancel, you can do so up to 2 hours prior to your reservation at no charge. If you don’t show up for your reservation or try to cancel within 2 hours, your credit card will be charged $10/person.
Price
As of April 2024, the breakfast price is $45/adult and $30/child, plus tax and gratuity.
Arrival and Check-in
If you have your reservation linked to your Disney My Experience app, you’ll receive a notification on your phone letting you know it’s time to check in. Otherwise, you can speak with one of the hosts standing in the lobby outside of Cape May Cafe.
When you check-in on the app, you can add any dietary restrictions or celebration notes for your group. After checking in, you’ll need to wait in the lobby until you receive another notification letting you know your table is ready. At this point, one of the staff will bring you inside to your table.
When we arrived at our table, we found a lovely autographed postcard waiting for us.
Service
Once seated, our server came around to introduce herself and explain what was included and what to expect. She took our drink orders, brought us some warm beach buns, and invited us to help ourselves to the buffet.
Our server was very friendly and checked on us once in a while to see if we needed anything. She was attentive but not overly so. Our daughter was taking her time eating her food and did not want to leave the restaurant, so we were one of the last guests out of there. However, we never felt rushed by our server or any of the other staff.
The cook and restaurant manager also each came by our table to see how we liked the food and if we enjoyed our experience. This was a nice touch.
The Disney Characters You’ll Meet
You’ll get to meet four Disney favourites:
Minnie Mouse
Daisy
Donald
Goofy
Minnie and her friends Donald, Daisy and Goofy are the four Disney characters you’ll have the pleasure of meeting at breakfast. All are dressed in their best beach attire which makes for a fun and lighthearted encounter.
We loved the beachy vibes, which really made us feel like we were on a beach vacation.
Each character personally visited our table and spent time interacting with each of us. We had lots of great photo opportunities and our daughter got each character’s autograph.
The characters also had impromptu dance parties between tables and invited the kids (and families!) to join in. Our daughter had a blast dancing with them!
We thought each character would only visit our table once, but some of them came back to hang out with us more than once 🙂
The Food and Drinks
Breakfast starts with warm salted caramel beach buns with vanilla cream brought to your table.
The cream is the most delicious part and perfectly pairs with the warm beach buns. Make sure you eat them while still warm as we found the buns got dried out and were not as tasty as when they were first brought out.
Juices, pop, coffee, tea, milk and water are all included and can be ordered from your server. Alcoholic and specialty beverages are available at an additional charge.
Breakfast Buffet Menu Offerings
Other than the salted caramel beach buns, breakfast is served buffet-style. There is quite a good variety of options available, and if you’re a carb-lover or have a sweet tooth like me, you will be especially pleased!
The buffet wraps around the cooking stations where you can get made-to-order omelets and crepes, as well as freshly carved ham.
Sweet Carbs
This was my first (and favourite!) stop at the buffet.
Here you’ll find the popular Mickey and Minnie waffles and chocolate chip pancakes, which our daughter absolutely loved! They were honestly quite satisfying.
However, my personal favourite was the bread pudding drizzled (er, drenched) in the delicious Creme Anglaise. Drool.
In addition to the creme Anglaise, you’ll also find whipped butter, whipped cream, and berry sauce.
If you’d like something a little less sweet, try the house-made cheddar biscuits with gravy.
Next are the crepes, and while they look good, they weren’t my favourite but maybe it’s because I didn’t eat them fresh.
Kids Station
To the left of the carbs is a lower counter with the kids’ favourites: potato barrels (aka tater tots), ketchup, chocolate chip pancakes, and Mickey and Minnie waffles.
Savoury Options
Continuing on to the left are some savoury options. Here you’ll find a tofu and veggie scramble, breakfast potatoes, asparagus, poached eggs and hash, and hollandaise sauce.
Meat and eggs
Next, you have your meat and egg options. There’s breakfast sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, and steak and eggs. You even have flour tortillas, salsa and grated cheese so you could make a breakfast burrito if you like!
Our daughter loved the bacon!
Oatmeal and Grits
Continuing on, you’ll find warm oatmeal and grits. The toppings offered are brown sugar and dried cranberries.
Fruit and yogurt
Next up, you’ll find yogurt (strawberry and vanilla), cottage cheese, granola, and a variety of fresh fruits. The day we were there they had pineapple, grapes, canteloupe and strawberries. I found the fruit to be quite fresh and sweet.
There were also cups of overnight oats with berries, but I didn’t love these. What I did enjoy, however, was the Ambrosia salad – something I hadn’t had since I was a child!
If you’ve never had ambrosia salad before, you’ve got to try it! It’s a fruit salad made with pineapples, mandarin orange slices, mini marshmallows and coconut.
Pastries and cheese
Moving on, you have a few select pastries and assorted cubes of cheese. The double chocolate mini muffins were obviously a hit with the kids. I skipped the Parker House rolls and croissants as I already had too many carbs on my plate.
Carving station
Next is the popular carving station. Here you can get freshly carved ham and it’s very delicious!
You’ll also find more scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and breakfast potatoes, the same ones that are offered on the other side of the buffet.
Omelet Station
Finally, you have your made-to-order omelet station! I personally don’t eat eggs, so I skipped this one, but it was very popular! The cook will customize your omelet just the way you like it.

Final Thoughts – Is the Cape May Cafe breakfast worth it?
Based on our experience, yes! This was our first time doing Disney character dining, so it was a very special experience for our daughter. Her dream of dining with Minnie got to become a reality.
Us adults in the group were not expecting to be wowed by the food and were solely booking Minnie’s Beach Bash Breakfast for the experience for our daughter. However, we were pleasantly surprised with the food! There were more options than we were expecting, and enough to satisfy both kids and adults alike.
The characters were all super fun and great with the kids. We appreciated how much our daughter got to interact with them. She was so thrilled!
The only con we can think of is that the restaurant is very busy so it feels quite tight at times and loud. Our daughter has sensory issues so the noise inside the restaurant was too much for her (hence the headphones in the photos).
Afterwards, we loved that we could walk along the beach outside of the hotel.
It was so relaxing, and our daughter absolutely loved the beach swings. She could have stayed there all day.
If you have a Minnie-obsessed child, we highly recommend this Cape May Cafe breakfast experience!
