Overview
We recently visited the Changi Lounge after a long-haul flight from LAX. After arriving at 5am on a 17-hour flight, we were desperately looking for a shower in Changi Airport and some coffee to wake us up. Thankfully, Changi Lounge has both of these so it was the perfect arrivals lounge for us!
Changi Lounge Jewel Location
The Changi Lounge is located landside within The Jewel, which is the shopping mall connected to Changi Airport. This is a public area of the airport so you access it before going through security.
Note: Since Changi Lounge is prior to security and not within the airport terminals, make sure you leave sufficient time to go through security and make it to your gate!
You will find Changi Lounge across from the Early Check-in counters on Level 1 of the Jewel.
If you find yourself by the magnificent Rain Vortex, you are not far from the lounge.
If flying into Changi Airport, you will find it after going through immigration and exiting the secure area. Just follow signs to The Jewel and then to Changi Lounge. Everything is well signposted.
Changi Lounge Access
Changi Lounge can be accessed by any of the following ways:
- Paid access
- Priority Pass
- Dragon Pass
- DreamFolks
If you are accessing the lounge using Priority Pass, Dragon Pass or DreamFolks, you must have a same-day boarding pass. The boarding pass can be from either an arriving or departing flight. It doesn’t matter which airline you are flying on nor what type of class.
Priority Pass Singapore Lounge
Even though we were arriving on a Singapore Airlines Business Class flight and there are of course Singapore Airlines lounges at Changi Airport, we did not have access to them upon arrival. They are only for departing flights.
However, we fortunately have Priority Pass which we used to gain entry to Changi Lounge since it is one of the Priority Pass Singapore Lounges. To enter, we showed our Priority Pass membership and our same-day boarding pass from our arriving flight.
Our Priority Pass access included:
- 1 Meal
- 1 Beer
- 1 Shower
- Unlimited snacks and non-alcoholic drinks
- Maximum 3-hour stay
Not a Priority Pass member yet? Use our link to sign up for the American Express Platinum card which comes with unlimited Priority Pass lounge access! While there is a high annual fee, we find it worth it as we love taking advantage of the lounge access whenever we travel!
Price
If you don’t otherwise have access to the lounge, you can choose to pay for one of the lounge access packages:
- Lite Package: $25/adult, $17/child
- 3 hour limit, free flow snack bar
- Classic Package: $39/adult, $27/child
- 3 hour limit, free flow snack bar, one hot meal, one beer
- Premium Package: $50/adult, $39/child
- 3 hour limit, free flow snack bar, one hot meal, one beer, one shower
- Shower Only: $20
- 20 minute shower slot, linens and toiletries included
Hours
The Changi Lounge is open daily from 6:00am to 10:00pm.
Note: Last order for food is at 9:00pm and last shower slot is at 9:25pm.
Changi Lounge Review
As mentioned above, we visited Changi Lounge after arriving early in the morning on a long-haul flight. We wandered through the impressive Changi Airport in the wee hours of the morning before finally making it to The Jewel right at 6:00am.
We entered the Changi Lounge a few minutes after it opened, at around 6:05am. Note that there is a desk at the entrance, but this desk is not manned. You must walk into the lounge where there is reception desk to check in with the staff.
If you are wanting to take a shower in the lounge, make sure you mention this upon checking in so that you can book a shower slot as there may be a wait. When we arrived at 6:05am, all immediate shower slots were already taken, but we only had to wait 15 minutes for one to open up.
At this hour, the lounge was pretty quiet. Those who were there were either sleeping on the sofas or waiting to take a shower.
Seating
The lounge has a nice open layout with various seating arrangements spread throughout the space. It is not the biggest lounge, but I don’t imagine it gets too busy or crowded considering its landside location.
The decor is very visually appealing and the sofas and lounge chairs are quite comfy. Each seat has ample charging ports to charge up your devices.
While there are unfortunately no windows in the Changi Lounge, I appreciated that the lighting was not too bright, but not too dark either. The plants dotted around the lounge are a nice touch as well.
You’ll also find some table seating in the dining area, but most people seemed to just eat at their lounge chairs.
Shower Suites
A big draw of the Changi Lounge is its shower suites. Anyone wanting a shower in Changi Airport can pay to access them, but they thankfully come free with Priority Pass!
There are only three shower suites so be sure to book a shower slot as soon as you check into the lounge. You will be given a voucher indicating your time slot and shower room number.
The shower suites are spacious and immaculately clean.
Bath towels and toiletries are provided, as is a hairdryer. You’ll also find amenities such as a shower cap, comb, dental kit and shaving kit.
In addition to the shower, the room includes a toilet, sink, plenty of counter space, and a spot to open up your luggage. Hidden behind the mirror is the hand dryer and paper towel.
The shower itself is spacious with good water pressure. There is a rainfall showerhead as well as a handheld one.
Believe me, it is such a game-changer to take a shower after a long flight! We felt amazingly refreshed afterwards and ready to explore Singapore.
The only downside is that we were only given 20 minute shower slots so it felt very rushed. I understand the time limit given the amount of people wanting to use the showers. Just make sure you set a timer because those 20 minutes go by very quickly!
Changi Airport Shower Price
If you don’t have Priority Pass, you can pay $20 for a 20 minute shower slot.
The Food
After our refreshing showers, we grabbed a quick bite to eat and a couple of coffees. I went up to the counter to order my complimentary hot meal. There was a menu at the counter, but you can also pull it up on your phone using the QR code on your lounge voucher.
Changi Lounge Menu
There were four options for hot meals:
- Singapore Laksa
- Tom Yum Noodles
- Beef Lasagna
- Chili Crab with Mantou
I decided to order the laksa, and was given a pager so I could return once it was ready. It only took about 10 minutes.
The bowl of laksa was large enough for Ryan and I to share. While it was tasty, it wasn’t my favourite bowl of laksa I’ve had. It was a bit too fishy-smelling for me (but that’s probably just me being sensitive haha).
Snack Bar
While waiting for our hot meal, we checked out the snack bar. We were drawn to the warm pastries so we grabbed one of each: egg tart, raspberry danish and mini butter croissant. They turned out to be quite yummy.
Other options are pretty limited. In addition to the warm pastries, you’ll find some cookies, crackers, trail mix, cereal, apples and bananas, and yogurt. I ended up just grabbing a packet of Oreos to take with me.
Drinks
We skipped our complimentary beer and went straight to the espresso machines. Ryan also enjoyed a canned iced Jasmine green tea, while I went for an apple juice.
I noticed they had packets of oat milk by the tea bags, which I was pleased to see.
Wi-Fi
There is free Wi-Fi available in the lounge and the connection and speed was good.

Final Thoughts
The Jewel Changi Lounge is a beautiful lounge with excellent shower facilities. This is what makes it unique and is the main draw of this lounge. It’s the perfect option for passengers looking for an arrivals lounge in Singapore, especially those with Priority Pass access.
If you’re looking for a shower in Changi airport and a quick snack, this is the lounge for you. It’s definitely one we’ll return to if arriving in Singapore and needing to freshen up.
However, considering its location outside of security, it is otherwise best suited to those on a lengthy layover who would like to check out The Jewel shops as well.
If departing Singapore, I would prefer one of the many other great lounges located directly within the airport terminals instead.

Hi! Can I use this lounge upon clearing immigration and picking up my luggage? Cos I will arrive Changi around 2AM.
Hi Kate!
Yes, you will need to clear immigration first and pick up your luggage, and then you can enter the lounge 🙂 That is what we did. However, you will need to wait to enter the lounge as it doesn’t open until 6am.
Enjoy your trip!
