Headed to Vegas and looking for a fun night out at the club? Make sure you get on the Drai’s Guestlist, then head on over to the best hip hop club in Las Vegas!
Where is Drai’s Nightclub?
Vegas’ more popular clubs spin mostly EDM and dance music, but if you want more urban flava then you best head to Drai’s. We decided to go to Drai’s for their Sunday event, aptly named Sundrais. If you are a hip hop fan this is the spot to be.
Drai’s is located on the rooftop of The Cromwell hotel. During the day they also host an awesome pool party. The club is frequented by Chris Brown and other popular hip hop artists and DJs. When we went they were featuring DJ Franzen but you’ll also find Ludacris, Rich the Kid, Fabolous. Lil Baby, Yo Gotti, 2 Chainz, DJ Pauly D, Future, Juicy J, and Trey Songz, to name a few.
The nightclub entrance is at the north side of the casino floor. If you enter from the parkade/valet entrance, just head to your right.
Getting into Drai’s Nightclub
We all hear how Vegas clubs have notoriously long line ups to get in and bouncers who are known to pick and choose who gets in based on what you are wearing or who you know. We really did not want to deal with all that.
To get into Drai’s (and any other Vegas nightclub) you have 4 choices:
1. Show up and get into the general admission line
This is probably the worst option as you will likely wait about 2 hours to get in unless you go at opening time or early morning. If you are incapable of planning ahead and need to be completely spontaneous then I guess this is your option.
2. Put your name on Drai’s guestlist
Guestlist lines are usually slower than the ticket line but the advantage is you usually get free or reduced entry. The downside is you have to show up by a certain time otherwise it expires.
3. Purchase tickets online
Purchasing tickets ensures you will get in but you still have to wait in line. However it will be the fastest line.
4. Book a table and bottle service.
If you are a group of guys this is pretty much your only way in! If you don’t mind blowing your cash then this is for you. Depending how many are in your group and how much you will be drinking this option might actually work out to not be much more than paying entry and buying drinks.
Since we aren’t ballin’ and it was just the two of us, option 4 was out of the question. We did think about purchasing tickets but we figured we didn’t mind arriving early at the club so we might as well save the ticket cost and just go with the Drai’s guestlist option.
How to get on the Drai’s Guestlist
There are a number of different companies and promoters online that can put you on the Drai’s guestlist. We had heard good things about Las Vegas Nightclubs so we decided to try them out online. We just had to fill out a form with the date we’d be attending, how many men and women, and enter our contact details. We then received a confirmation text right away!
They also sent reminders by email and text regarding what time to show up, what to wear and what not to. We were told to show up between 10:30 and 11pm.
Remember, it is free to get on the Drai’s Guestlist and there’s no need to purchase tickets! **unless it is for a big name artist, such as Migos or Future, or you are ALL guys.
If you are wanting to get on the Drai’s guestlist the day of, then make sure you get in touch with them before 7:00pm as that is the cut off.
Getting into Drai’s Nightclub
The club doesn’t open til 10:30pm and when we showed up there was no line. So we played on the slots nearby and waited til there were at least a few people.
By 10:40pm there were a few groups of people heading in so we got in the Drai’s guestlist line which is separate from general admission. We had to go through the metal detector and they inspected my purse. I had my camera in my purse which apparently is not allowed so I got turned away! I totally was not aware that was a rule. Luckily our car was in the parking structure so Ryan ran it back to the car. When he got back there still wasn’t a line up so it was all good. But to ensure you don’t get turned away and waste your time in line for nothing, check out all the rules here.
Drai’s Dress Code
Drai’s has a strict dress code. They state they require “fashionable nightclub attire”. What does this mean exactly? No athletic wear, no sandals, no chains, no shorts, no torn clothing. Ladies wear heels, guys wear dress shoes and a collared shirt.
The guy in front of us was wearing Nike Cortez and the bouncer turned him away, explaining that SOMETIMES Jordans are accepted but definitely not Cortez LOL. Don’t be that guy. Actually, their website says no Jordans or Timberlands, so better be safe than sorry. It’s all at manager discretion, though, but they are super strict.
Getting into Drai’s for free on the Drai’s guestlist
Once passing the bouncers we went up to the hostess and told her we were on the Comp Guestlist and we got to go right on up the elevators. Neither Ryan nor I had to pay cover!
However, cover isn’t always free, depending on the night. If there is a big name artist that night then you will need to have purchased tickets even if you are on the Drai’s guestlist. On other nights, sometimes only the ladies will get in free but the guys will have to pay a reduced cover. Las Vegas Nightclubs will send you a link in their confirmation email that will let you know the current rules for cover that week.
Drai’s Nigthclub Experience
Once we were inside there were hardly any people in there. Just two tables and a few other people standing around. We felt slightly awkward standing around waiting for the place to fill up but by 11:15pm there were a lot more people and the dance floor started to fill. It was not long before the whole place was hoppin’.
The dance floor area inside is quite large and there is a stage above where the DJ, performers and dancers are. The dancers on stage are actually really good – I was impressed. The whole place gets really hyped – it’s so much fun! Honestly probably the best nightclub experience I’ve ever had.
The sound and light system is amazing in there. The music was so, so good! And surprisingly I didn’t feel so hot on the dance floor, whereas in other clubs they can feel so stuffy and sweaty.
All in all it is a classy place, with a somewhat older crowd, and the dopest music. We’ll definitely be back!
